Job Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to take full operational responsibility for Soft Facilities Management across a four-building Birmingham cluster. The role also requires an informed oversight of Technical Services to effectively support the Hard FM team.

You will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the Total FM contract are delivered safely, compliantly, and cost-effectively, while maintaining high service standards.

What you'll do:
  • Manage day-to-day Soft FM operations across the Birmingham cluster
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, SOPs, and statutory requirements
  • Oversee contractor control, permits, and safe systems of work
  • Monitor budgets, costs, and financial performance
  • Maintain consistent service delivery across all sites
  • Support audits and ensure sites remain inspection-ready
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members
  • Build strong client relationships and act as key point of contact
  • Ensure services meet contractual KPIs and quality standardsIdentify opportunities for service improvement and innovation
What you bring: Essential:
  • Proven experience in Facilities Management (ideally across Soft and Hard Services)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
  • Experience managing teams and service delivery
  • Financial awareness with budget management experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable:
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • Authorising Person certification (discipline-specific)
  • Risk Assessment certification
  • ISO Internal Auditor experience
  • Hard FM experience
