The Role We are currently recruiting for a Facilities / Maintenance Operative to join a busy student accommodation site in London on a temporary 1-month contract. This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the property, ensuring residents enjoy a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained living environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the accommodation.
  • Resolve maintenance issues including:
    • Basic plumbing repairs
    • Minor electrical works
    • Window and door repairs
    • Basic decorating and plastering tasks
  • Complete planned maintenance inspections and remedial works.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance and health & safety issues.
  • Log and update maintenance requests using internal systems.
  • Ensure high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and safety across the site.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to students and visitors.
  • Work closely with the wider facilities team to maintain operational standards.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a facilities, maintenance, caretaker, handyman, or building maintenance role.
  • Good all-round maintenance skills, including basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Comfortable using technology to log and update jobs.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
