EYFS SEN Practitioner - Gateshead. Full-Time & Day-to-Day Opportunities Available. Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm.
About the RoleWe are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS SEN Practitioners to support children with ASD and challenging behaviours across SEN Schools in the Gateshead area. You will work with a variety of specialist provisions to provide high-quality 1:1 and small-group support. Your role will involve:
- Supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social, emotional, or behavioural needs
- Implementing personalised strategies to encourage engagement, communication, and emotional regulation
- Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and wider school teams
- Creating a calm, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
- Using a positive behaviour support approach to respond safely to challenging behaviours
- Following individual EHCPs and contributing to progress observations
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience working with SEN children in EYFS or early years settings
- Knowledge or experience of supporting children with ASD or challenging behaviours
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant childcare, education, or SEN qualifications (desired but not essential)
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Full-time and flexible day-to-day roles
