Experienced Small animal vet vacancy - Beautiful Cornwall practices

Redruth is a historic town with deep-rooted heritage, renowned for its impressive Victorian architecture and growing arts scene and is near countryside and the coast, providing an excellent base for exploring Cornwall's dramatic beaches, rugged coastline and endless walking trails. St Ives is celebrated as one of the country's most picturesque seaside destinations, offering crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and an artistic heritage creating a relaxed coastal atmosphere, with the practice enjoying views across the bay and a short stroll from both the beach and town centre.

Practice Details

Redruth practice: spacious, with four consulting rooms, two theatres, ultrasound, dental and digital x ray capabilities, and separate dog and cat isolation wards. Accredited as a Silver Cat Friendly Clinic, providing a calm and reassuring environment for feline patients. Includes on site parking and a tranquil garden for staff.

St Ives practice: compact, efficient, with two consulting rooms, a fully equipped theatre and prep area, an in house laboratory, digital x ray, ultrasound, dental facilities, and dedicated dog and cat kennels. Features a spacious reception area, staff room and convenient parking.

Team & Learning

Redruth is led by two highly engaged Partners supported by an experienced nursing team, including a Head Nurse and longstanding support staff. St Ives hosts an experienced Head Nurse, a Registered Veterinary Nurse and a Client Care Assistant. You will join a broader network of seven knowledgeable vets, many working toward certificates in Small Animal Medicine, Cardiology and Orthopaedics, fostering collaboration, mentorship and ongoing learning.

Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon-ideally with at least three years of UK experience-who is confident working independently at times, particularly at St Ives, and comfortable handling routine surgery, diagnostics and consultations. If you enjoy building long term client relationships, working closely with colleagues and contributing positively to a supportive team culture, you will thrive in this role.

Contract

Permanent full time position with a 40 hour working week across four days, offering an excellent work life balance. Weekend commitments are limited to one Saturday in three, from 8:30am to 12:30pm. No out of hours or bank holiday duties. The role provides a blend of time between the Redruth and St Ives practices, giving you chances to experience varied caseloads, maintain continuity of care and work alongside two established, caring teams.
