Functiebeschrijving Do you want to contribute to the future of European space infrastructure? As an Experienced Integration Engineer within CGI's Space unit, you will play a pivotal role in deploying and maintaining mission-critical on-premises systems for some of Europe's flagship programs, including Galileo, the global satellite navigation system. Your expertise in networking, virtualization, and on-premises server management will ensure smooth system operation and strong alignment with both customer and project requirements. Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities 
- Integrate, configure, and maintain networking infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and routers, ensuring security and performance.
- Manage and administer on-premises servers and virtualized platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters and containerized environments in on-premises setups.
- Perform system troubleshooting and root cause analysis, providing rapid solutions to incidents and minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with developers, system engineers, and DevOps teams to support integration and deployment activities.
- Contribute to the design and documentation of integration processes, ensuring compliance with industry and project standards.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to ensure availability, scalability, and efficiency.
- Support security and compliance audits, applying best practices for secure systems integration.
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience as an Integration Engineer or similar role in mission-critical environments.
- Strong expertise in networking (firewalls, switches, routing protocols, VPNs).
- Hands-on experience with on-premises server management and virtualized platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Solid knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken), with the ability to collaborate across international and multidisciplinary teams.
- Structured, detail-oriented, and proactive mindset with a strong orientation to delivery.
- Experience working in European space programs such as Galileo, Copernicus, or similar.
- Familiarity with ECSS standards or integration processes in aerospace/defense projects.
- Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, or VMware Certified Professional.
- Knowledge of security standards and practices for mission-critical systems.
- Previous collaboration with ESA, EUSPA, or major space industry integrators.
- Work in small self-managing teams consisting of experts in your field
