Pertemps Daventry seeks an Experienced Automotive Service Advisor for a full-time role at a busy MOT and Service Centre in Daventry, paying £28,000 to £32,000 annually.
You will manage customer bookings for MOTs, servicing, and repairs, coordinate the workshop diary, and allocate tasks to technicians. Previous experience within a garage, MOT centre, or similar workshop is essential. This front of house position demands strong organisational abilities and clear communication, ensuring smooth workflow from arrival to completion. Supporting technicians with precise job details and maintaining an efficient schedule are central duties. This permanent contract suits candidates adept at juggling priorities in a hands on environment.
Key Responsibilities- Booking vehicles in for MOTs, servicing, diagnostics and repairs
- Managing the workshop diary and customer bookings
- Allocating work to technicians and managing workloads
- Providing technicians with accurate job information and required parts
- Liaising with customers and providing progress updates
- Preparing estimates and obtaining customer authorisation for additional work
- Ordering and managing vehicle parts
- Preparing invoices and taking customer payments
- Liaising with suppliers and parts departments
- Handling telephone and email enquiries
- Maintaining accurate customer and vehicle records
- Ensuring jobs progress efficiently through the workshop
- Supporting the overall day to day running of the service centre
- Previous experience as a Service Advisor, Service Receptionist, Workshop Administrator or similar
- A good understanding of MOTs, servicing and general vehicle repairs
- Knowledge of vehicle parts and parts ordering
- Experience with invoicing and administration
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organisational and time management skillsGood computer skills
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload
- Confidence dealing with customers, technicians and suppliers
- A proactive, organised and dependable approach
- £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience
