SALARY: £45-£55,000 DOE

About the role
We're looking for a confident and proactive marketer to join our busy Events Marketing team on a 12 month FTCmaternity cover. You'll lead the marketing strategy for a vertical within our events portfolio, manage a small team, and support the wider department in delivering high-impact campaigns across a range of B2B events for the higher education sector.
This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is results-driven, calm under pressure, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate will bring strong event marketing experience, a passion for creativity, excellent written English, and a flair for compelling copywriting.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the end-to-end marketing strategy and execution for a defined vertical within our events portfolio
- Develop targeted marketing plans with audience-focused, benefit-led messaging
- Manage direct reports, supporting their development and delivery
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders, media partners, and external organisations
- Create and update commercial marketing materials (e.g. media packs, case studies, presentations)
- Maintain detailed marketing timelines and project plans to ensure campaigns run on time and within budget
- Analyse and report on campaign and event performance; use insights to inform continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the commercial sales team to generate, track, and convert qualified leads
- Plan, build, test, and report on email campaigns using Acoustic
- Write and proof marketing copy across web, email, and print channels; liaise with designers and sub-editors
- Coordinate the distribution and promotion of post-event content to maximise ROI and engagement
- Support wider marketing team initiatives and cross-functional collaboration as needed
Experience and skills required
- 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role
- Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and doing things differently
- Confident and talented self-starter who is able to hit the ground running
- Commercially astute and entrepreneurial outlook
- Ability to work to agreed deadlines, working well under pressure
- Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to manage and prioritise workload
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling, grammar and proofreading, with the ability to tailor style and approach to suit a variety of global audiences
- Interested in international higher education
- MS Office essential - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Educated to a degree level
