Fundació Sant Joan de Déu is opening a European Pre-award Manager position, specialized in social innovation projects, to contribute to SJD Social Innova.
SJD SOCIAL INNOVA is a cross-cutting program that promotes and contributes to the generation of transformative social innovation projects in SJD's social and healthcare centres, from the idea and project design to project development and impact.
The person we are looking for will be responsible for assisting project leaders identifying ideas, linking them with funding opportunities, designing impact driven projects and writing competitive proposals (mainly European Comission calls, but not only). The objective of this person is transform ideas or challenges in the social area into winning project proposals, and increase the participation in European projects both as coordinators and partners.
We work mainly with the following calls/programs: "Easy" Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI); "CERV" Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme; "AMIF" Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund; Horizon Europe Cluster 2 "Culture, Creativity and Inclusive society; and Erasmus+. However, other sources of national and international funding will also be explored when applicable to the identified ideas/projects.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Internal Scouting: Be aware of the activity of the different social innovation stakeholders within the Sant Joan de Déu ecosystem. Have deep knowledge of the interests, ideas, needs, and project portfolio of SJD social innovation, overseeing its alignment with the trends of funding agencies.
- External Scouting: Have in-depth knowledge of appropriate funding frameworks for the interests and needs of the centres in social innovation (European, International, National, Regional), and keep up to date. Identify and align capacities and interests with future trends in this field.
- Project Application: Promote SJD stakeholders' participation in competitive calls suitable for the identified ideas and provide professional support for the preparation of the proposals:
- Evaluate the suitability of the project with the topic/call and evaluation criteria.
- Conceptualize the project, including the design of the theory of change and impact pathway.
- Design the methodology and structure of the project.
- Identify the expertise needed and support the creation of the consortium.
- Write the project proposal.
- Entity's visibility and positioning: participate in forums and initiatives of SJD's interest to find new opportunities and collaborations.
- Capacity Building and Internal collaboration: promote knowledge and skills among project leaders and fostering collaboration among SJD Centres.
Requirements
- University degree in Social Sciences and Humanities.
- Master's degree or PhD (highly valuable).
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar position (European Pre-award Office, Proposal Writer) working with similar types of funding programs.
- Writing skills: knowledge and experience in writing competitive collaborative international research and innovation proposals, including the entire proposal development process.
- Meet the requirements detailed in the "Personal Skills" section.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing Spanish, Catalan, and English.
- Availability for occasional travel locally and abroad.

The person we are looking for must be proactive, responsible, and able to work accurately under the pressure of deadlines. He/she should be able to adapt ideas into valuable projects, be creative, flexible, empathetic, and service-oriented. We seek a professional with good communication and teamwork skills.
He/she needs to have demonstrated ability in managing multiple sub-projects simultaneously. Be autonomous and responsible. Show strong organization and time management skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks effectively, and respect deadlines.
The person must have competencies related to proposal preparation: project design, consortium building, proposal writing and proposal management.
