Our client, a leading organisation in the banking sector, is seeking a dynamic and experienced EU Finance Architect & IT Lead. This exciting temporary opportunity spans 12 months and focuses on enhancing financial systems through Oracle ERP and EPM for their offices. Role: EU Finance Architect & IT lead

Duration: 12 Months

Location: London (Hybrid, 5 days out of 10 a week in office)

Rate: £750 per day (umbrella)

Key Responsibilities:

• Business Alignment: Collaborate with EU business stakeholders to gather Finance requirements for critical programmes, ensuring a seamless integration of needs into the architecture.
• Architecture Oversight: Support the EMEA Finance lead in developing and maintaining a clear architectural vision and roadmap for Finance, steering the organisation towards operational excellence.
• Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a high-performance culture while providing technical guidance and support.
• Data Quality & Integrity: Implement robust controls and processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial data used in reporting.
• Process Improvement & Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline and automate finance processes, significantly reducing manual efforts and enhancing efficiency.
• Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical issues related to Finance, working closely with vendors and internal teams to implement effective solutions.
• Documentation & Training: Ensure product owners for Finance have current documentation and provide training to users on new systems or changes, enhancing user competency and confidence.
• Oracle ERP Solution Management: Oversee the delivery of Oracle ERP solutions, ensuring requirements, design, and solutions are robust and aligned with global templates.
• Production Support & Configuration: Provide hands-on design, configuration, and support for Oracle Financial Module(s), focusing on Oracle General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets.
• Governance Participation: Facilitate and participate in Governance sessions, leading Design Authority sessions and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.

Experience Required:

• In-depth years of industry experience, with many years focused on Oracle Financials within Finance organisations in the banking sector.
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles and processes.
• Demonstrable experience with Oracle Financials, particularly in full life cycle implementations of Oracle General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Fixed Assets.
• Solid understanding of record-to-report and procure-to-pay processes, alongside internal controls.
• Experience in system implementation and production support, with knowledge of Oracle tables and SQL query writing.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with proficiency in ticketing systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow.

Specific Qualifications/Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, with the ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements effectively.
• Strong communication skills, capable of translating complex technical issues into understandable concepts for business teams.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting issues and determining appropriate solutions, with a willingness to learn and stay updated on banking regulations and solutions.
