A little more about your role
You will play a pivotal role in pre- and post-contract Quantity Surveying (QS) services to our clients, including measurement, estimating, procurement, and post-contract commercial management of projects of varying size and complexity.
YOUR TEAM
You will join a diverse, growing team of Quantity Surveyors specializing in estimating and cost management, working across sectors such as highways, structures, public realm, property, and maritime.
You will be part of our Project Management and Commercial Management Team (PMCM), comprising approximately 400 colleagues across the UK. This team delivers Quantity Surveying/Cost and Commercial Management, Programme and Project Management, and Project Controls services for both Building and Infrastructure projects for public and private clients. You will be within the Civil Infrastructure and Utilities group.
You will be based in one of our offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Teesside, Bristol, or Guildford, located conveniently near public transport and local amenities.

WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- AssocRICS working towards MRICS or a desire to achieve it.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and experience in estimating at various design stages, measurement methods, digital tools, and post-contract administration (NEC, JCT).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- An adaptable and flexible approach to workload.
- A passion for making a difference and working in a dynamic team.
- Relevant professional qualification or working towards (e.g., CICES, AcostE).
- A degree or similar higher education qualification.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with specialist software such as CostX and CEMAR.
- Working knowledge of NEC Contracts and other standard industry contracts.
- Willingness and ability to travel to sites, client offices, project teams, and other WSP locations.
