Estimator - New Build Housing & Construction

MK Consult are working with an established and growing construction contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business delivering a diverse range of new build housing and construction projects across the North West and wider UK.

This role will suit an ambitious Estimator who enjoys working on a variety of projects, has a strong commercial awareness, and thrives in a fast-paced tendering environment.

The Role

As Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions across residential and construction developments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying value engineering opportunities
• Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules
• Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings
• Liaising closely with clients, consultants and the operational teams
• Supporting bid presentations and contract negotiations
• Maintaining a strong understanding of current market conditions and construction costs

About You

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry
• Experience pricing new build housing, residential or general construction projects
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials and procurement routes
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Full UK Driving Licence
