Estimating Manager

Location: Glasgow - (hybrid working arrangement - 3 days per week on site)

Contract: Fixed Term (12 months)

Do you have a background in finance/accounting and an interest in Bid and Project Management? If so, then this could be the perfect role for you.

We are looking for an Estimating Manager to join our Optronics and Missile Electronics (OME) UK team in Glasgow. You will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of our bids and projects here at Thales.

Key responsibilities:

The purpose of this role is to define the inputs necessary for project estimating, coordinate activities, and consolidate estimates.

  • Outline the estimating approach and appropriate techniques.

  • Provide estimate timelines.

  • Document decisions for strategy, techniques, and rationale as part of key Estimate Information in the Internal Executive Summary, project management plan, or other project documents.

About you:

We seek a proactive individual with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams are essential.

  • A financial/accounting background is essential.

  • Understanding of the Bid Management process and lifecycle is advantageous.

Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our work, this role requires UK National status and the ability to achieve SC Security Clearance without caveats. Existing clearance is advantageous, but not mandatory, as successful candidates will need to undergo clearance procedures. Residency in the UK for the last 5 years is generally required for full clearance, with some circumstances allowing a minimum of 3 years.
