Job Description
Role Overview

This ESOL Programme Lead position offers a starting salary of £29,498.40 per annum for 28.8 hours per week, with a full time equivalent of £36,873 per annum. The role leads a busy, dynamic, and growing department delivering ESOL Skills for Life courses to face to face learners in Camberley, Guildford, Molesey, and Sunbury Centres, plus remote evening classes.

About the Role

As an ESOL Programme Lead you will:

  • Lead ESOL provision in partnership with another Lead, fostering a high performing team culture built on collaboration, accountability, and shared purpose.
  • Support tutors to deliver high standards across face to face and remote learning.
  • Build operational links with Admissions and Exams for accurate learner placement and smooth, compliant delivery of Trinity ESOL Skills for Life examinations across Surrey.
  • Line manage a team of part time ESOL tutors.
  • Champion high quality, learner centred provision aligned with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework and the service's Quality Framework.
  • Drive continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment to achieve consistently positive learner outcomes.
  • Maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure all provision meets awarding body requirements.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of an inclusive, aspirational ESOL curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised teaching qualification and substantial experience teaching ESOL Skills for Life with strong adult learning principles.
  • Proven experience conducting formal observations aligned with the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
  • Success in an Ofsted regulated environment, maintaining and enhancing high teaching standards.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and strong IT proficiency to support teaching, planning and QA.
  • Experience in marking and internal verification of vocational qualifications, ensuring compliance with awarding body standards.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to drive across Surrey; access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to adapt to adjustment needs for candidates with disability or long term health condition.
  • Required DBS Disclosure and Barring Service check, to be discussed at interview.
