The RoleAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Performance Researcher working within the ERSOU Counter Terrorism Policing Analysis and Research team.
- Interrogate databases and systems to extract relevant data for regional performance insights
- Engage with customers to define research requirements and clarify understanding
- Collect and collate data in line with customer specifications
- Add value by theming information and linking datasets
- Coordinate national performance returns for the region, meeting deadlines and ensuring departmental completion
- Monitor data quality and provide feedback to improve regional returns
The role is primarily office based, with some limited agile work.
Qualifications & Experience- Strong numerical skills; ability to interpret and communicate percentages, ratios, and averages confidently
- Experience interrogating data from multiple systems under tight deadlines
- Proficiency with Windows based software, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible approach and ability to self motivate
- Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research
- Familiarity with customised databases and visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
- Current SC or DV vetting
Created in 2010, ERSOU is funded by the seven police forces of the Eastern Region, with Bedfordshire Police as the lead force. ERSOU is the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit, overseeing and delivering a regional response to serious and organised crime and counter terrorism policing for the regional forces.

Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo Management Vetting (5 year residency) and Security Clearance (5 year residency), or Development Vetting if applicable, before taking up the post. The Police Corporate Vetting Unit will conduct financial checks as part of the background checks for successful candidates and others residing at the applicant's address.
