ER Specialist - Workforce Change & Restructuring Specialist

  • Fixed Term Contract for 6 months , potential of extension
  • Salary: paying up to £75,000
  • London, Glasgow or Northampton with hybrid working

Oakleaf Partnership are supporting a global Bank that is seeking an interim experienced Workforce Change & Restructuring Specialist. This is a pivotal role for an HR professional with proven experience in driving large-scale organisational change programmes in complex, regulated environments.

The Opportunity

You will take end-to-end accountability for the HR workstream on a range of critical projects, including restructurings, redundancies, TUPE transfers, senior exits, outsourcing/insourcing, site closures, mergers and acquisitions. This is a highly visible role where you'll partner with senior stakeholders, works councils, and unions, ensuring change programmes are delivered with precision, compliance, and impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own delivery of the HR workstream for workforce change and restructuring projects, ensuring full governance, controls, and reporting are met.

  • Lead people impact assessments, consultation strategies, and employee representative engagement.

  • Design and deliver clear communication and consultation plans in partnership with senior leaders.

  • Collaborate closely with HR Operations, Legal, and Career Transition Services to ensure smooth execution.

  • Provide expert advice on complex workforce change issues and influence senior decision-makers.

  • Identify risks, strengthen controls, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Candidate Profile
  • Strong background in Employee Relations and experience with workforce change, restructuring, and HR M&A within large-scale, complex organisations.

  • Experience working with unions/works councils and handling consultation processes.

  • A commercial ER Specialist who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.

  • Resilient, detail-oriented, and confident operating at pace with senior stakeholders.

  • Previous experience in financial services, professional services, or another highly regulated sector would be advantageous.
