Employee Relations Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to provide expert, end-to-end ER support across the business. This role will manage a varied caseload, ranging from low-level employee issues through to complex, high-risk and sensitive cases, ensuring consistent, fair and legally compliant outcomes.

You will act as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders, offering pragmatic guidance while balancing commercial needs with employee wellbeing and best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end employee relations cases
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to managers on ER policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Lead and support formal processes, including investigations, hearings and appeals.
  • Ensure ER cases are handled in line with employment legislation, internal policies and ACAS guidance.
  • Draft clear and accurate documentation, including outcome letters and case summaries.
  • Identify trends and proactively recommend improvements to ER processes and policies.
  • Support organisational change initiatives from an ER perspective (e.g. restructures, consultations, TUPE where applicable).
  • Build strong working relationships with HR colleagues, legal advisors and key stakeholders.
About You
  • Proven experience in an Employee Relations role, with full end-to-end case management.
  • Demonstrable ability to handle both low-level and highly complex ER cases with confidence and professionalism.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
  • Excellent investigation, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) or equivalent experience is desirable.
