Job Description
Employee Relations Manager Health & Social Care York / Hybrid Full-Time, Fixed-Term (15 months) £42,000 - £47,000 per annum + benefits

Tide Partnership is working with a respected national health and social care provider to appoint an Employee Relations Manager on a fixed-term basis (15 months). This high-profile role offers the chance to lead a specialist ER team and shape an organisation's approach to employee relations during a period of growth and change.

You'll work closely with senior leaders, HR business partners, and operational managers to resolve complex ER matters, strengthen management capability, and embed best practice across the organisation.

It's a brilliant fit for someone confident in handling complex casework, advising at senior level, and leading a proactive ER function.

What You'll Be Doing

As Employee Relations Manager, you'll act as the organisation's subject matter expert for employment law, ER casework, and policy. You'll support managers with pragmatic, solutions-focused guidance and drive forward a positive ER culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a small ER team to deliver high-quality case management support.
  • Manage complex and high-risk ER cases, including grievances, disciplinaries, and tribunal preparation.
  • Coach and empower managers to resolve issues effectively and confidently.
  • Support organisational change initiatives such as restructures, redundancies, and TUPE.
  • Develop and review ER policies, ensuring compliance with evolving employment legislation.
  • Provide reporting and insight on ER case trends to inform strategy and decision-making.

What We're Looking For
  • CIPD Level 7 (or working towards), or equivalent experience.
  • Strong background in employee relations, including complex case management.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience in tribunal preparation and policy development.Ability to coach and influence managers at all levels.
  • A pragmatic and solution-driven approach to risk and resolution.
Travel Requirements

Due to the nature of the role and organisation, the successful candidate will need to be able to travel on an occasional basis across the region. Additionally, due to the location of services, you will need to hold a valid driving licence and have access to your own vehicle.
