ER Manager within Banking

  • Length: 6 month FTC
  • Location: Flexible - London, Manchester, or Cardiff
  • Salary: Paying up to £90,000
  • Hybrid working: 2 days a week in the office, 3 at home

Oakleaf Partnership are partnering with an award winning Bank undergoing some transformation. They are looking for an experienced Employee Relations Manager to join a well-established and collaborative ER team during a period of change and opportunity. They do require someone who has worked within Banking or the wider Financial Services sector.

This is a hands on role, supporting the Head of ER and wider HR function to deliver a best in class ER service in a fast paced, complex environment. You'll play a pivotal part in managing challenging employee relations cases, guiding managers through restructures and redundancies, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality approach to ER across multiple UK sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing complex and high volume ER cases including redundancy, consultation, disciplinary and grievance matters.
  • Partnering with HR Business Partners and senior stakeholders to deliver pragmatic, solutions focused ER advice.
  • Supporting the delivery of organisational change and transformation programmes.
  • Analysing ER trends and data to identify proactive interventions and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Contributing to the development of ER frameworks, policies and best practice.
About You
  • Experienced Employee Relations professional, and you must have worked within Banking or the wider financial Services sector.
  • Proven track record in managing a wide range of ER cases and change activity including restructures and redundancies.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and practical application in business settings.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and able to thrive in an environment of ambiguity and pace.
  • Collaborative and empathetic, with a natural ability to build trust across teams.
  • Conduct Rules experience would be advantageous but not essential.
