At Argos, we're a digital led UK retailer that keeps pushing boundaries to meet every generation with what they want, how and when they want it. As a market leader in general merchandise, serving millions of customers through our website, app, same day delivery and Click & Collect services, we offer real opportunities to learn, grow and shape your career. With roles spanning Commercial, Buying, Merchandising, Design and Supply Chain, through to Digital, Operations, Customer Experience, Marketing, and People and Transformation, you will work with brilliant colleagues and directly shape how we serve our customers every day. From enabling inspiring choice across our owned brands, including Habitat, Chad Valley and Bush, alongside the world's biggest brands like Apple, Lego, Xbox and Samsung, to making shopping effortlessly convenient, championing trusted value and accelerating our strategy - Argos is an exciting place to build your future.

About the team

You'll be joining the Argos People Employee Relations & Policy team, a specialist function supporting leaders and colleagues across the business to navigate complex employee relations matters with confidence and fairness. The team plays a critical role in managing risk, enabling good decision making, and ensuring that our policies and practices align with both employment law and our valued behaviours. Working at the centre of Argos, the team partners closely with senior leaders, employment law experts, and wider people teams to deliver commercially sound and human centred outcomes.

More about the role

As an Employee Relations & Policy Executive, you'll support the delivery of expert ER advice on complex, high risk, and high profile cases. Working closely with the ER & Policy Specialist, you'll balance reactive case management with proactive insight led interventions that build capability across the business. Your day to day will involve advising leaders on sensitive employee relations matters, assessing risk, tracking cases to resolution, and ensuring advice aligns with policy, employment law, and Argos' valued behaviours.

You'll also play a key role in analysing ER data to identify trends and risk areas, supporting initiatives to improve outcomes in areas such as absence, performance, and long term sickness. In addition, you'll contribute to tribunal preparation, deliver training and briefings on new policies, and coach leaders to strengthen their confidence and capability in managing ER issues.

More about you

To be successful in this role, you'll bring proven experience in employee relations, with the confidence to manage complex and sensitive cases in a fast paced environment. You're comfortable assessing risk, applying sound judgement, and tailoring your advice to achieve balanced outcomes that work for both colleagues and the business.

You'll be a credible and collaborative partner, able to influence and challenge stakeholders constructively while building trust at all levels. A data led and pragmatic mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning will enable you to deliver high quality, commercially focused ER support and help build sustainable people capability across Argos.

  • Demonstratable experience providing employee relations advice on complex or high risk cases, following cases through to resolution.
  • Proven knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application within an organisational context.
  • Evidence of analysing ER data to identify trends, assess risk, and inform action plans or recommendations.
  • Proven experience influencing and advising stakeholders at multiple levels, including senior leaders.
  • Demonstratable capability in communicating ER guidance clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

We also recognise and celebrate colleagues when they go the extra mile and, where possible, offer flexible working. When you join our team, we'll also offer you an amazing range of benefits.
