Description & RequirementsFor our Equity Research Team in London we are looking to hire an
Equity Research Associate - Chemicals
Berenberg's chemicals equity research team, ranked in top 10 in Extel surveys, is seeking an associate to assist in coverage of European and US equities. A deep understanding of industries, companies and stock markets, detailed financial analysis and a thorough assessment of management expertise underpin our successful stock picking approach. Freedom of thought and complete independence are core to our research philosophy.
What will you do?
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research on a broad range of companies within the Chemicals sector
- Researching and reviewing company accounts/reports, analysing trends and newsflow within the industry, and helping write research notes on companies within the sector
- Attendance at company presentations, conferences, events, and meetings with company management
- Undertaking various tasks associated with the research function, updating databases useful for analysis, reviewing and archiving research material
- Previous experience in financial industry and/or chemicals. Potential backgrounds include: equity research, consultancy, investment banking, the chemicals industry, or post-qualification accountants.
- Required: financial modelling ability, ability to manipulate large data sets, confidence in dealing with ambiguity as well as resilience
- Advanced IT skills, including all standard Office applications
- Desired but not essential: knowledge of chemicals sector, European or Chinese language skills
- Visa sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom is supported
