Equipment Technician

Alcon seeks a 12 month contract Equipment Technician to support the Engineering department in Cork. The role focuses on maintenance and troubleshooting of existing and new automation, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide first response technical support for automated equipment.
• Define maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for new equipment introduced to site.
• Assist Engineering in installation and implementation of new equipment.
• Provide equipment training to the wider engineering team.
• Report daily to Engineering on all activities, highlighting concerns early.
• Investigate and document process issues and report findings and solutions to Engineering.
• Support safety risk assessments for new equipment.
• Maintain adherence to Alcon QS requirements and H&S and environmental requirements.
• Order and maintain stocks of spares and components.
• Carry out modifications and upgrades.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level7 qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
• Strong technical ability and automation experience (preferred).
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of ISO, FDA, and GMP standards.
