Our skilled in house teams collect and treat used water, returning it safely to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. With over 76,000 kilometres of sewers and more than 1,000 Water Recycling Centres, we play a critical role in protecting our region's environment. For a great career just add water! As an Environmental Risk Reduction Technician, you will help protect our environment by driving down pollution risk across our Water Recycling Centres (WRCs) and Pumping Stations (PSs).Your primary focus will be delivering proactive site audits, ensuring compliance, and identifying improvements to prevent pollution events. You will work closely with local Operations teams, offering specialist support, sharing best practice and helping embed consistent standards across the region. Key Responsibilities Deliver proactive audits across WRCs and PSs, raising and tracking actions to completion Complete assurance checks on local audits to ensure accuracy and consistency. Identify recurring issues and themes, sharing insights with the Process Performance Team. Support Environment Agency OSM audits, providing technical guidance and helping embed improvements. Produce and maintain Environmental Risk Management Plans (ERMPs). Support the rollout of pollution prevention initiatives and standardised processes. Carry out assurance checks on environmental policies and operational compliance. Provide clear feedback, coaching and best practice guidance to Operations teams. What We're Looking For Understanding of Water Recycling processes. Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple operational areas. IT literate (Excel, Word, Office 365) and experience using systems such as IRIS and SAP would be advantageous Commitment to environmental protection and continuous improvement. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Confident communicator (written and verbal) with the ability to interpret and present technical data clearly to different stakeholders. Strong analytical skills, including data handling and spreadsheet proficiency (functions, formulas, linking, sorting).
