Job Description
What We'll Expect You to Demonstrate Environmental Compliance & Regulatory Assurance 
- Lead compliance with all applicable Irish and EU environmental regulations, including EIA, Habitats, Water, Noise, Waste, Air Quality, and related legislation.
- Manage environmental conditions linked to An Bord Pleanála's Railway Order and associated project commitments.
- Oversee the delivery of mitigation measures and monitoring programmes outlined in MetroLink's EIAR and Sustainability Plan.
- Support key sustainability priorities, including climate adaptation, efficient materials use, and biodiversity net gain.
- Represent the client when responding to environmental submissions from third parties, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Review and approve Contractor Environmental Management Plans, method statements, permits, licences, risk assessments, and monitoring reports.
- Ensure all environmental requirements are clearly included in project contracts, procurement documents, and delivery processes.
- Monitor contractor performance to confirm environmental obligations are being met across project activities.
- Oversee the project's environmental monitoring programme.
- Track key performance indicators related to noise, vibration, dust, water, ecology, waste, and carbon.
- Lead audits, inspections, and site surveillance across contractors, design partners, and construction activities.
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Ecology, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in environmental management on major infrastructure or transport programmes.
- Solid understanding of Irish EIA/SEA legislation, construction environmental management, and relevant EU Directives.
- Experience working client-side or within a PMO environment on large, multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven ability to lead environmental compliance programmes on complex construction sites.
- Experience working on underground infrastructure or rail projects.
- Familiarity with major project governance frameworks such as TII or NTA.
- Knowledge of sustainability frameworks including ISO 14001, PAS 2080, circular economy, and biodiversity management.
- Understanding of noise and vibration modelling, hydrology, or contaminated land management.
- Strategic thinking and environmental leadership.
- Strong regulatory and technical expertise.
- Effective stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Audit, assurance, and risk management capability.
- Contract and performance management experience.
- Data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary client-side team
