Job Title - Environmental Engineer Location - Huntstown Power Station, Dublin Contract - Permanent Full Time Working Hours - 39 hours Monday to Friday Closing Date - 28th April 2026 About the Role We are seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our team at Huntstown Power Station. This role will play a key role in ensuring that our operations are at the highest standards of environmental compliance, performance and sustainability. Reporting to our Environmental Manager, this role will support all aspects of environmental compliance across Huntstown Power Stations and will contribute to Group wide environmental reporting and projects. The successful candidate will be a technical expert with a passion for making a real impact through their role- supporting highly flexible, efficient power plants and contributing to a more sustainable energy system. Responsibilities Day-to-day, here s what your new role would look like:
  • Support all aspects of environmental compliance across the two Huntstown plants, including liaising with the EPA, environmental consultants and specialist contractors as required.
  • Provide support to Huntstown and the wider business on ESG, CDP & CSRD activities, including data collection and reporting.
  • Develop production tools, systems and processes to enhance monitoring, fault-finding and analysis of environmental and chemistry parameters at the plant.
  • Identify opportunities for energy reduction and efficiency improvements at the power plants.
  • Manage or contribute to projects at the Huntstown plants as required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and implement improvements in areas of environmental compliance.
About you Key Criteria What You ll Need
  • Qualification to degree level in an environmental, engineering or energy discipline.
  • Experience in an environmental, energy or chemistry role within a power station or equivalent environment.
  • Experience of managing or supporting technical projects.
  • Experience of developing detailed technical reports, procedures or policies.
  • Experience of interacting with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters.
Desirable Criteria - These help decide between those who meet all the above key criteria:
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements at a CCGT power plant.
  • Knowledge of water/steam chemistry at a CCGT power plant.
  • Experience in fault finding and resolving issues on power plants.
