Cardiff is the fastest-growing capital in Europe, and we have an opportunity for a dynamic person to join the Neighbourhood Services Environmental Enforcement Team. The goal is to enhance local environmental quality and deliver excellent customer service to Cardiff's residents and visitors.
We seek a manager with extensive experience in managing frontline operations and a thorough understanding of legal proceedings related to environmental crime.
About the jobEnvironmental Enforcement Manager involves overseeing and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and policies. This role typically includes tasks such as:
- Monitoring and enforcing environmental laws: Ensuring that businesses and individuals adhere to environmental regulations and standards.
- Developing and implementing enforcement strategies: Creating plans and procedures to effectively enforce environmental laws.
- Collaborating with other agencies and stakeholders: Working with government bodies, community organisations, and other stakeholders to promote environmental compliance.
- Providing education and outreach: Informing the public and businesses about environmental regulations and best practices.

What We Are Looking For From YouWe are seeking a manager with substantial experience in managing frontline operations. The candidate should be capable of leading a team, collaborating with other agencies, and working effectively with diverse groups. A solid background in environmental legislation is required.
We are look for a manager with attention to detail who has the ability to meticulously review and analyse environmental data and regulations to ensure compliance.
You need strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders, conduct inspections, and provide education and outreach.
The role involves identifying and addressing environmental issues, developing enforcement strategies, and finding solutions to complex problems.
These qualities are vital for enforcing environmental laws and safeguarding the environment for future generations.
You will need to understand and operate in line with Council Policies and Procedures. You must maintain the reputation of the Council by adopting a professional and courteous approach.
Additional informationA full valid driving licence is an essential requirement of this role.
A full Enhanced DBS check is an essential requirement of this role.
