About the Role

Enterprise Architect required to shape enterprise architecture across a complex environment, aligning technology strategy with business priorities and long-term outcomes.

This is a hands-on strategic role suited to someone who can balance best practice with practical delivery. You will act as a trusted advisor, supporting technology decision-making, enabling continuous improvement, and helping the organisation progress towards a stable, modern, and scalable architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Align enterprise architecture with business strategy, translating goals, priorities, and constraints into clear architecture artefacts and models.
  • Define, maintain, and improve architecture governance processes, principles, standards, and ways of working.
  • Develop and maintain strategic architecture roadmaps in collaboration with senior stakeholders and programme teams.
  • Shape new business and technology initiatives from inception, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and long-term objectives.
  • Provide architectural guidance and oversight to solution teams, including chairing technical design authority forums where required.
  • Oversee programme-level architecture deliverables and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Build and manage the architecture knowledge base, including models, standards, tools, and reusable artefacts.
  • Champion modern, scalable technology approaches while balancing quality, efficiency, and practical delivery timelines.
  • Act as a visible advocate for enterprise architecture and continuous improvement across the business and technology landscape.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience working as an Enterprise Architect.
  • Applied experience across two or more enterprise architecture domains, such as Business, Data, Application, or Technology, with a good understanding of each.
  • Strong understanding of how different business models and processes influence enterprise architecture and how architecture enables business value.
  • Experience developing, applying, and driving value from architecture principles.
  • Proven ability to align business vision and strategy with capability roadmaps.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of systems, integration approaches, existing and emerging industry standards, and the role of enterprise architecture in portfolio management.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to drive change with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strategic, holistic approach to business and technology.
  • Ability to plan complex work over extended timeframes while managing shifting priorities effectively.
  • Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving skills and a high level of accountability.
  • Enterprise Architecture certification such as TOGAF or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience, with the ability to engage, motivate, and influence people at all levels.
