Job purpose

As the Enterprise Architect for the Product Inventory Domain, you will be responsible for the Product & Inventory technology architecture strategy for easyJet Holidays, ensuring alignment with wider technology and business strategy. You will work with the business on ideation and discovery for key strategic Commercial initiatives and provide high level solution design for those initiatives. The role involves collaboration with domain solution architects and the wider architecture team, all reporting to the Head of Architecture. The Product and Inventory domain covers backend reservation systems, inventory setup and maintenance (e.g., accommodation onboarding), and integration with 3rd party product inventory providers including accommodation, flight, and transfer systems.

You will be accountable for all product inventory domain architecture artefacts and ensure designs and decisions are governed according to the practice. You will guide solution architects in iterative product solution design.

Job Accountabilities

• Lead the technology strategy for end-to-end solutions in the Product Inventory Domain, working with technical leads and the Head of Architecture to drive long-term architectural direction.
• Collaborate with Business functions in discovery for new ideas and major Holidays initiatives, providing conceptual solutions, options analysis, estimation, and guidance to realise the initiative vision.
• Produce high-quality, comprehensive solution designs artefacts for key strategic initiatives, balancing functional and non-functional drivers, understanding risk, and aligning to IT strategy and standards within an agile, product-based framework.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of the architecture practice, maintaining views of evolving Product & Inventory technology landscape, identifying patterns and standards, and ensuring artefacts and decisions are well documented and governed.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Experience of pragmatic architecture governance, design governance, production of enterprise artefacts, and maintenance of architecture viewpoints. Demonstrable experience leading major initiative discovery and experimentation.
• Demonstrable experience designing high-quality software solutions aligned with business needs and timelines.
• Ability to confidently present solution architecture and strategy to IT and business audiences.
• Ability to understand complex concepts and communicate them simply to business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience designing/implementing solutions, including:
• Product Inventory Management Platforms (Tour Operator Platforms desirable)
• Order Management Platforms
• Caching & Search Solutions
• Product/content Ingestion, Curation and Publishing solutions (desirable)
• Cloud Native Solutions
• Integration Service architectures and patterns
• Experience of building internal and external 3rd party integration architectures
• Experience of Event Driven Architecture & API Design
• Practical experience delivering iterative architecture solutions in an agile project delivery model
• Understanding of the design approach to achieving functional and non-functional requirements
• Software Development path background desirable with evidence of previous programming language experience
• Travel, Retail or Ecommerce Industry domain knowledge desirable but not essential

Location & Hours of Work

This full-time role will be based in Luton with some Hybrid working. The role will also require some occasional travel.
