About the roleAs part of the Leckford Estate team, you will provide effective Mechanical and Electrical engineering support to farming and food processing operations to enable smooth operational delivery and minimal downtime. You will need to be responsive and effective at dealing with maintenance requests, reactive and urgent maintenance issues. You will also need to manage your time effectively to carry out planned preventative maintenance as per scheduled plans.
The Leckford Estate was purchased by John Spedan Lewis, the founder of the John Lewis Partnership, in 1929. The estate spans 2,800 acres and is divided by the River Test, renowned for fly-fishing. The estate comprises four main business units supported by the estate office team:
- Farming - including arable, dairy, beef, orchard, and vineyard enterprises
- Food Processing - dairy processing and oilseed processing units
- Retail, Leisure, and Events - including a farm shop, café, nursery, fishing, and golf facilities

£32,900 - £52,800.
Contract typeThis position is a Fixed Term contract (Secondment) until December 2025.
LocationLeckford Estate, Hampshire
Key responsibilities- Respond to minor maintenance requests, reactive and urgent issues as directed by the Property Services Manager or team leader
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance as per assigned schedules
- Minimize costs while achieving agreed service levels
- Provide planned out-of-hours support when required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Ensure trailer and vehicle attachments are inspected according to schedule
- Perform first-fix vehicle repairs where possible
- Coordinate all Allianz records, inspections, and equipment
- Electrical background
- Hold 18th edition IEE wiring regulations certificate
- Full and clean driving license
- Experience working in farming or food manufacturing
- Welding qualifications
- Tyre repair skills
