As we evolve our approach to engineering design and production, we are seeking a visionary and hands-on Engineering Resource Manager to ensure we have the right flow of trained engineering staff.
About the Role: As an Engineering Resource Manager, you will lead the ongoing enhancement of our engineering organisational capacity. Your responsibilities include evaluating resource needs, developing strategic plans, supporting recruitment, maximizing internalization, building connections, and coordinating resources and performance. You will report directly to the Engineering Director. Location is flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Forecasting: Lead resource demand forecasting with support from Regional Engineering Leads for a 3 to 5-year outlook, including workload visibility and stability reports.
- Meeting Demand: Develop strategic resourcing plans and establish a supply of capable designers to meet demand, supporting gap closure if needed.
- Supporting Recruitment: Support recruitment campaigns, coordinate technical interviews, and find innovative ways to secure and retain resources while maintaining GDPR compliance.
- Internalisation, Offshore, External: Maximize internationalization of design, coordinate between design houses, and support recruitment and commercial alignment for enterprise/JV's.
- Sustainable Supplier Relationships: Maintain trusting relationships with internal and external design entities.
- Building Connections: Represent Engineering at Building Connections events and foster connectivity across Engineering teams.
- Control and Coordination: Oversee cross-regional resource allocation, promote collaboration, ensure effective work environments, clarify roles, and monitor utilization.
- Graduate and Apprenticeship Intake: Lead efforts on graduate and apprenticeship program planning and support the Engineering Skills Group.
- Evaluation: Conduct annual salary reviews, support monitoring of engineering leaver interviews, and develop measures for attendance and performance automation.
