JOB TITLE: Head of Engineering - General Insurance (GI) Platform

SALARY: £124,653 - £146,650

LOCATION: Leeds

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, in the Leeds office.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Head of Engineering to Lead our General Insurance (GI) Platform.

The GI Platform's purpose is to create an industry leading experience to help our customers with their insurance needs across house, motor, pet & health. We strive to achieve this goal by improving our customer journey with new features and tech, simplifying our customer journeys, and improving infrastructure.

Collaboration is critical to the success of this role! As the Head of Engineering you'll work collaboratively with the Product Owners, other platforms, technical teams, as well as other engineering leads across Lloyds Banking Group (LBG). You'll work hand-in-hand leading the platform technology teams with the Technology Platform Lead and Business Platform Lead and Product Owners to:

• Drive the technology and engineering transformation of General Insurance
• Jointly assume the ownership, development, and accountability of Lab strategic and quarterly OKRs, and are incentivised against a balanced set of business and technology outcomes.

• Optimise, evolve, and deliver an efficient operating model.

• Support shaping of the backlog and prioritising outcomeswhich are essential to keep the solution / product in good health.

• Create an organisation that istruly data drivenand providing the best value propositions to our customers.

• Define the What and Why the team deliver, and how through a combination of engineering solutions and changes to our ways of working i.e. agile and instrumentation.

What you'll need:

• To be a visionary leader and an advocate for digital transformation

• A passion for team development; allowing colleagues to develop in different/new technologies and mature in ways of working, resulting in a successful team.

• Extensive experience and technical engineering knowledge and implementation of a broad range of platforms, including cloud.

• Are technology agnostic and willing to adapt your approach in pursuit of the best solution; enables via an excellent knowledge and understanding of multiple engineering & software design solutions.

• Experienced in providing Software Engineering oversight, technical and people leadership across multiple teams

• Successful in building high performing mission driven cultures

• You will inspire delivery whilst encouraging simplicity and developing confidence & trust
