About the RoleLeicestershire County Council is the local highway authority for the county, responsible for maintaining 2,575 miles of roads. We plan and deliver roadworks throughout the year, as well as providing gritting services in winter. We also work with developers and partners to ensure that new developments have appropriate and sustainable highway infrastructure. We are committed to providing a safe, efficient, and accessible transport network for all road users in Leicestershire.

About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- A degree in an appropriate subject or HNC in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification) and be working towards (or willing to work towards) I.Eng or C.Eng.
- Significant experience working in an engineering setting with knowledge of current legislation, policies and procedures; Highways Act, NRSWA, Traffic Management Act, Traffic Regulation Act, CDM etc.
- Significant experience of developing and project managing civil engineering projects and works programmes.
- Strong customer focus and able to liaise with customers and clients. Applicants must demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisational skills using IT systems to accurately capture, store and retrieve information.
- Ability to interpret maps, plans and Engineering Drawings.
