Job Description - Heat Networks Manager (25636)

Job Title: Heat Networks Manager

Location: Hybrid (home and Newcastle City Centre), with travel across the national property portfolio (approx. two days/month)

Type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hpw)

Salary: c£50,000 - £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus benefits including health cash plan

Introduction: Join us as a Heat Networks Manager to deliver efficient, affordable heating solutions for our customers. You'll oversee metering, billing, and energy use across 56,000 homes, ensuring value for money and enhancing customer experience.

Requirements: No prior heat networks or energy management experience necessary; we value strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and transferable experience from roles such as housing management, maintenance, customer engagement, or project management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze data, reports, and customer feedback to monitor heat network performance and identify improvements.
  2. Manage our heat network portfolio, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, including OFGEM requirements, reporting, and supporting retrofit projects.
  3. Engage with customers to improve heat efficiency, maintain open communication, and handle complaints confidently and empathetically.
  4. Collaborate with the Lead Sustainability Manager to develop and implement innovative heat network management strategies, including billing, metering, and working with consultants.

Candidate Profile:

  • Transferable skills from relevant roles; knowledge of heating and billing systems is a plus.
  • Ability to influence diverse stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, consultants, and senior leaders.
  • Experience managing budgets or grants within project delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience working with large datasets and producing clear reports.

Job Details:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hpw, Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid working from Newcastle City Centre, with national travel
  • Must have a full driving license and access to a vehicle; mileage paid
