Employment Specialist (Supported Employment)
About the RoleSTEP UP delivers person centred employment support with a "No Resident Left Behind" ethos. We are expanding our Connect to Work Service and seeking specialists to support vulnerable residents, including those with learning disabilities, neurodiversities or previous offending backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities- Support a caseload of up to 25 residents through the programme and into sustained employment.
- Build excellent working relationships with local businesses to secure quality, sustainable job opportunities.
- Work in partnership with stakeholders (e.g. Probation Service, other council departments) to ensure the best possible progress into work.
- Maintain high quality records that demonstrate compliance with the contract and the Supported Employment Quality Framework.
- Provide a high quality service to customers, ensuring job requirements are met with reasonable adjustments where needed.
- Act as an active, positive and supportive team member, contributing ideas that improve outcomes or service quality.
- Develop lasting relationships with businesses, working with other council departments and contracted third party providers to deliver coordinated service and good jobs for residents.
- Positive, creative problem solving attitude.
- Passion for supporting residents into work.
- Desire to work either with residents with learning disabilities or those with an offending background.
- Strong track record of supporting residents into employment.
- Excellent communication and influence skills at all levels, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to understand business needs and fill them creatively for STEP UP customers.
