Job Description
Role Overview

Employment Specialist - Pay Range £31,049 £37,796. This role is part of Reed in Partnership's Employability Division, supporting unemployed or economically inactive individuals in East Sussex to find sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own a caseload of jobseekers, identifying barriers and creating tailored action plans to progress them into employment.
  • Deliver one to one guidance, including CV writing, interview preparation, and skills development.
  • Generate referrals into the Connect to Work programme and promote its benefits within the community.
  • Collaborate with participants to build confidence, engage local employers, and identify job opportunities.
  • Signpost participants to internal and external stakeholders for support with health, housing, financial challenges, etc.
  • Meet and exceed performance targets and KPIs.
  • Attend local community events to raise awareness of the Connect to Work programme.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring or persuasive influencing skills through work or social activities.
  • Experience in a customer facing environment (e.g., Customer Services, Hospitality, Social Care, Sales).
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, performance target driven environment.
  • Willingness to travel locally within East Sussex and hold a valid driving licence.
  • Minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent Level3 Diploma.
  • GCSE English Language GradeB or equivalent Level2 qualification, or Level2 Literacy Assessment at interview stage.

Desirable:

  • Experience in community engagement (e.g., Business Development, Outreach).
  • Fluency in more than one language.
