Job Title: Employment Solicitor / Senior Lawyer

We are seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor or Senior Lawyer to join a team of established legal professionals on a maternity cover basis.

Role Overview

You will manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, providing high-quality legal advice and representation.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct employment tribunal litigation, including preparation and advocacy at hearings
• Advise managers and HR on a range of employment law issues
• Handle disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and restructuring matters
• Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and related documentation
• Provide clear, practical legal advice within a public sector framework

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with strong employment law experience
• Proven experience in both advisory and tribunal workExperience within a local authority or public sector environment is desirable
• Strong communication and case management skills

Working Arrangements

• Initial office attendance for onboarding (first couple of weeks)
• Predominantly remote working thereafter
• Office attendance required only for final hearings or key proceedings
