Job Description
Employment Lawyer (Solicitor / CILEx)

Remote-first South West or Yorkshire hubs £40,000+ DOE Flexible hours available

An established legal services provider is looking to appoint an employment lawyer to join a growing team handling a mix of contentious and advisory work.

The role is remote-first, with optional access to regional offices for those who prefer a hybrid arrangement. Applications are welcomed from lawyers seeking full-time or reduced-hours working, with flexibility built into the role from day one.

The Opportunity

You will be responsible for managing your own employment caseload, primarily focused on tribunal-based matters, alongside supporting advisory and documentation work where required. The position offers a good balance of autonomy and support, with clear processes in place and scope to take on additional responsibility over time.

This is a practical, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys managing files end-to-end and delivering clear, commercially focused advice.

Typical work will include:

  • Assessing prospects and advising on potential employment claims
  • Managing tribunal cases from early stages through to resolution
  • Drafting key documentation, including statements and pleadings
  • Handling settlement discussions and formal agreements
  • Assisting with advisory matters such as employment documentation and day-to-day HR queries
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and team initiatives
About You
  • Qualified solicitor, barrister or CILEx lawyer (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior exposure to employment law and confidence running matters independently
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
  • Comfortable working remotely while remaining engaged with a wider team
Working Arrangements
  • Remote-first role with optional hybrid working
  • Regional office access in the South West or Yorkshire
  • Full-time or part-time working patterns considered
  • Flexible scheduling within standard business hours
What's on Offer
  • Salary from £40,000 depending on experience
  • Generous holiday allowance and wellbeing support
  • Lifestyle and healthcare-related benefits
  • Emphasis on sustainable workloads and work-life balance
  • Supportive environment with structured development opportunities
