Employment Lawyer

Location: Leeds City Centre (Hybrid working supported)

Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + Extensive Benefits

About the Role

As an Employment Lawyer, you'll manage a varied and intellectually stimulating caseload, advising employers across diverse sectors on complex employment law and business immigration matters. You'll work collaboratively within a team of ten highly skilled lawyers, handling both contentious and non-contentious work whilst building strong client relationships and contributing to the team's continued growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advisingoncomplex employment law mattersfor employers across multiple sectors including corporates, regional businesses, fast-growing SMEs, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Managingcontentious employment tribunal claims and litigation, including representation at hearings
  • Providingstrategic HR adviceon disciplinary, grievance, and performance management issues
  • Advising onTUPE, redundancy, and restructuring matterswith a commercial, pragmatic approach
  • Drafting and negotiatingsettlement agreements and employment contracts
  • Handlingdiscrimination, whistleblowing, and unfair dismissal claims
  • Advising onbusiness immigration mattersto support clients with international workforce needs
  • Building and maintainingstrong internal and external client relationships
  • Contributing tobusiness development and team growththrough networking and client engagement
  • Working on high-value, strategic matters with early intervention to reduce risk and protect clients' interests

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitorwithminimum 3 years' PQE in employment law(greater experience welcomed, including Senior Associate level)
  • Strong experience representing employersin employment matters across diverse sectors
  • Proven ability to managecontentious employment workandtribunal representationExcellent client relationship management skills with ability to providepragmatic, commercial advice
  • Commercially mindedwith ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Motivatedteam playerwho works equally well autonomously and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skillswith ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients
  • Adaptable to change with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Experience inbusiness immigration matters
  • Track record ofbusiness development or networking activities
  • Experience advisinglarge corporates and high-net-worth individuals
  • Familiarity with employment law software and case management systems
