Job Description

Are you a driven and experienced Employment Counsel looking for a unique opportunity to make a significant impact? Join our dynamic and growing global Legal team in a newly created role where you'll have the autonomy to shape our company's approach to all aspects of employment law.

As our Employment Counsel, you will be the go-to legal expert, providing strategic and practical advice across a broad spectrum of employment-related matters. This is a fantastic chance to build and own this critical function within a global capacity.

Here's a breakdown of what you'll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  • Provide expert legal counsel on employment and freelancer contracts, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Analyse and interpret existing and emerging employment laws, guiding the business on their implications and scope.
  • Partner with our Corporate and Finance teams, offering crucial employment law expertise on restructuring and M&A activities.
  • Collaborate with our Company Secretarial and Compliance teams on employment law issues related to Investor Relations and ethical policies.
  • Support our Data Privacy team on Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and other employee-related privacy matters.
  • Advise on the legal aspects of compensation, reward, bonus, and other incentive schemes.
  • Provide legal guidance on company pension schemes.
  • Partner closely with HR Business Partners, offering legal advice and support on employee disputes.

These are the essentials you'll need to get an interview:

  • Qualified lawyer in the UK or an EU jurisdiction.
  • Significant contentious and non-contentious employment law experience gained in private practice or an in-house role.
  • Demonstrable experience and understanding of data privacy issues within an employment law context.
  • A genuine interest in the digital products and services marketplace and a desire to build a career as an employment lawyer in this exciting sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a global team.
