The Employee Relations Manager role in Cambridge, with a salary between £49,000 and £49,387, is a full-time, permanent position. Senior Employee Relations ManagerAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join a large, complex medical organisation in a senior employee realtions advisor. This position offers the opportunity to support key stakeholders by providing expert Employee Relations advice, leading a dedicated HR team and partnering with senior stakeholders on complex people matters. The RoleReporting to the Head of Employee Relations, you'll provide specialist advice and guidance on a wide range of complex employee relations matters while leading and supporting a team of Employee Relations Advisors. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence and change management cases.
- Providing expert advice on employment law, HR policies and best practice.
- Leading and developing a team of Employee Relations Advisors.
- Supporting senior managers through formal hearings, investigations and appeals.
- Representing management at appeal hearings and Employment Tribunals where required.
- Building effective relationships with senior leaders, managers and Trade Union representatives.
- Designing and delivering management and HR training programmes.
- Reviewing and developing HR policies and procedures.
- Leading and supporting workforce projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deputising for the Head of Employee Relations when required.
To be successful, you'll have:
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent HR experience).
- Significant experience managing complex Employee Relations cases.
- Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
- Experience managing or leading HR professionals.
- Outstanding communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to influence and challenge at senior level.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Experience delivering management training and supporting organisational change.
- Experience within the a clinical/ medical or another large, unionised organisation would be highly advantageous.

This role will be onsite during training period with the opportunity of hybrid once embedded in the business working 3 days in the office and two at home.
