Employee Relations Manager (Band 8a)

Location: Surrey Hours: 30 per week Length: Permanent Salary: £57,888 pro rata

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Employee Relations Manager to join one of our NHS clients. This is a key specialist role, providing expert ER advice, strategic support, and high-quality case management.

Lead on complex and highly sensitive cases, support the development of ER policies, and champion best-practice employee relations.

Employee Relations Manager - Key Responsibilities Employee Relations Leadership
  • Act as a subject matter expert for complex and highly complex ER cases.
  • Provide specialist, autonomous advice to managers at all levels
  • Quality-check ER cases and documentation to ensure legal and procedural compliance
Case Management & Data
  • Oversee ER case management systems, KPIs and reporting dashboards
  • Analyse ER trends, identify themes (including culture and EDI), and present insights to senior teams
  • Lead development of ER Standard Operating Procedures
Line Management
  • Line-manage: Senior ER Advisor, ER Advisor and Associate ER Advisor
About You Essential Skills & Experience
  • Significant ER management experience in a complex NHS or healthcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and ER best practice
  • Experience handling high-risk ET, MHPS or multifaceted ER cases
  • Experience developing ER policies and reviewing legal compliance
  • Skilled in case data analysis, KPI reporting and dashboard use
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience advising senior leaders
  • CIPD Chartered Member (or equivalent)
