Are you an experienced Employee Relations specialist looking for your next challenge? My client is seeking a confident and capable Employee Relations Lead to join their dynamic HR Business Partnering team on a 6-month fixed term contract.
Based in Basingstoke, this role offers a hybrid working model, combining office and home-based flexibility. Occasional travel to other offices or offsite locations will be required, so access to transport and a willingness to travel is essential.
Reporting to the HR Business Partnering Manager, you'll lead a team of six HR Advisors, delivering expert employee relations support across the organisation. You'll collaborate closely with the Employee Relations Capability Partner and HR Business Partners to resolve complex cases, drive positive outcomes, and uphold the organisation's values.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coach the HR Advisor team to deliver expert employment law advice while mitigating business risk
- Provide practical guidance on grievances, disciplinaries, flexible working, capability, absence and performance
- Develop the team's confidence and capability in managing ER cases
- Oversee case recording and use data insights to identify trends, risks and costs
- Manage complex, high-risk cases and support employment tribunal preparation
- Advise on policy changes and ensure alignment with current legislation
You'll bring hands on experience in employee relations, with a proven track record of coaching managers through complex cases. Ideally, you'll be CIPD qualified or working towards it.
- Has deep knowledge of UK employment law and upcoming legislative changes
- Is experienced in resolving complex ER issues through internal and external processes
- Uses data to spot trends, assess risk and recommend innovative solutions
- Builds trusted relationships and communicates with clarity and empathy
- Influences and educates stakeholders on policy, procedure and legal implications
