Job Description
Employee Relations Advisor (Maternity Cover)

Location: York YO60 6PG

Contract: Fixed term contract (7 months, with possibility of extension)

Salary: £28,500 - £32,000 a year

Role Overview

Supporting managers and employees across the organization on employee relations matters, providing expert advice and managing ER cases.

Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on employee relations matters.
  • Manage ER cases from start to finish, including investigations, disciplinaries, grievances and appeals.
  • Ensure all ER matters are handled fairly, consistently and in line with employment legislation and company policies.
  • Support managers with short term absence management, probation reviews and flexible working requests.
  • Coach and upskill managers on MAP policies, procedures and best practice approaches.
  • Support employees and managers with progression planning through Monster Progression Plans (MPPs).
  • Assist with UK payroll administration and provide support with payroll related queries.
  • Collate, analyse and report on people data including absence trends and ER metrics.
  • Occasionally support with delivering training sessions and workshops on people related topics and workplace policies.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider MAP team to provide a positive employee experience.
  • Regular travel to Scunthorpe sites and occasional travel to Venlo, Netherlands warehouse.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrable experience providing HR and ER advice within a fast paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations processes, policies and UK employment law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and support stakeholders at all levels.
  • Positive, proactive and approachable attitude with genuine passion for supporting people.
  • Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confident using HR systems and IT packages, including HR reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Solutions focused mindset with strong problem solving abilities.
  • CIPD Level 5 would be great, but is not essential.
  • Knowledge of Dutch employment law would also be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Previous payroll administration experience would be beneficial.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
Working Hours & Location

Full time position (37.5 hours per week) with flexible start and finish times between 8:00am 9:30am and 4:00pm 5:30pm. Lunch breaks can be 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Based fully in the modern office near York (YO60 6PG). Own transport essential.
