Electronics Production Engineer Job Description

Salary - Circa £45,000 DOE
Location - Office based in Bicester

Our client is a pioneering technology company specialising in digital safety solutions for high-risk industrial environments. They develop and manufacture advanced wireless monitoring systems that enhance operational safety and efficiency. With a strong focus on innovation, in-house R&D, and global deployment, the company supports sectors such as energy and heavy industry.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Electronics Production Engineer to join their team. You will support manufacturing and new product introduction, working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams. To succeed in this role, you'll need hands-on electronics manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

  • Liaise with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support designs through to production
  • Occasional travel to local contract electronics manufacturers
  • Produce engineering documentation including assembly drawings, manufacturing instructions, and test procedures
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and potential failure modes
  • Support the development of automated production test hardware
  • Contribute to the quality management system for processes and documentation
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities

Experiences required

  • Educated to at least HNC level in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing
  • Familiarity with products that include embedded firmware
  • Board-level electronics debugging using standard test equipment
  • Experience with new product introduction and resolving common production issues
  • Design and automation of production test fixtures (e.g., using scripting or PLCs)
  • Experience with electronics and mechanical CAD software (e.g., Altium, SolidWorks)
  • Basic system administration (Windows and Linux)
