Electrician (Level 3)Location: HMP Leyhill, Wotton-under-Edge, Near Bristol Rate: £26.66 per hour Contract: Temporary / Ongoing Recruitment Partner: Hays Specialist Recruitment Your New Role Hays Specialist Recruitment are currently recruiting for a qualified Electrician (Level 3) to join a secure site maintenance team at HMP Leyhill near Bristol.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a large commercial and operational environment, carrying out a mixture of planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and installation work across a diverse property estate.

The role offers long-term stability, varied work and the chance to play a key role in maintaining essential services within a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical systems and equipment.
• Complete installations, testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with current regulations and health & safety standards.
• Complete inspection, testing and maintenance records accurately.
• Support maintenance projects and minor works.
• Escort and supervise contractors when required.
• Maintain compliance with site security procedures and operational requirements.
• Contribute to excellent service delivery across the estate.

What You'll Need

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671). Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and maintenance experience.
• Good understanding of planned preventative maintenance (PPM). Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team.
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred.

Due to the nature of the site, successful applicants will be required to undergo security vetting before commencing employment.
