What you'll be doing as the Electrical Technician
  • Ensuring the health, safety and well being of yourself, colleagues, contractors, and visitors by always displaying the correct behaviours, complying with the Health and Safety at Work regulations and Thames Water's Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Undertaking both reactive and planned maintenance, responding to alarms and fault finding to identify issues, fixing them or escalating, and performing planned maintenance of plant and equipment daily, installing new plant and equipment as required in line with current Standards and Regulations.
  • Recording work and asset information to improve business performance, identifying possible future risks and recommending changes in the course of your day to day work, and raising these for resolution as required.
  • Providing specialist technical advice where appropriate, with up to date technical knowledge, and coaching, training and developing staff under your supervision, including the apprenticeship programme.
  • Delivering an excellent customer experience and positively contributing to overall customer satisfaction by interacting with all of our customers (internal and external) in a timely, professional, efficient, respectful and polite manner.

Slough STW, Wood Lane, Slough, SL1 9EB

Working pattern

38 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:36pm. Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training.

What you should bring to the role
  • You should have a significant amount of experience in electrical systems, with NVQ or C&G Level 3 in electrical engineering.
  • 18th Edition preferred, but training can be given.
  • Experience working with 3 phase systems.
  • Problem solving skills, able to identify potential issues and implement solutions, or escalating if required.
  • Excellent communication skills, providing technical expertise to internal and external staff and contractors.
  • Resilience and adaptability to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, driven by own initiative to design and standards.
  • Knowledge and awareness of Health and Safety issues relevant to the industry.
  • Team player who can work in many different teams, showing respect for others, providing helpful feedback and supporting the development of others.
  • Full UK driving licence.
