Job Description
Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety conscious Electrical Shift Technician to join our on site critical utilities hard services maintenance and calibrations contract for a leading pharmaceutical company based in Dublin. The role is permanent, based in Blanchardstown, and involves shift work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor site critical utilities systems.
  • Perform first line and scheduled maintenance for utilities equipment.
  • Respond to and report all equipment deviations, ensuring escalation per site procedures.
  • Liaise with subcontractors during planned maintenance, ensuring work permits are approved.
  • Complete all related documentation in compliance with site and regulatory rules.
  • Deliver delegated engineering tasks following good engineering practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist engineering support in updating Utilities SOPs and training operations teams.
  • Ensure all actions comply with the site IPPC licence and client requirements.
  • Conduct investigations on utilities equipment, identify problem areas, and aid improvement procedures.
  • Liaise with utilities Engineering Support Team and ensure smooth shift handover.
  • Support maintenance during planned and unplanned shutdowns.
  • Update spare lists and participate in utilities reliability programs.
  • Review maintenance performance data using KPI results: PM:CM ratio, man hours per equipment/system, MTBF, MTTR, equipment reliability trends.
  • Perform other activities as directed by the Veolia Contract Manager or Shift Lead.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Senior Trades, City & Guilds or equivalent in Electrical engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years' post qualification experience in industrial utilities, preferably in pharmaceuticals.
  • Pro active, organized, and detail oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintenance and operational experience with pumps, HVAC systems, compressors, boilers, steam systems, chillers, cooling towers, clean steam boilers, purified water systems, CIP systems, low/medium voltage electrical systems, and building management systems.
  • Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems, PLC and SCADA controls, CMMS, permits to work, P&IDs, SOPs, GMP engineering systems, and basic instrumentation.
  • Team player who can recognize and resolve conflicts, work logically, and make decisions when required.
  • Hands on experience with detailed knowledge of equipment areas listed above.
  • Desirable: experience on a 24/7 production site and dealing with shift teams.
