This is an opportunity to join a business that combines the stability and resources of a multinational organisation with the agility and technical depth of a high performing engineering site.
About the RoleAs a Staff Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the electrical backbone of advanced automation and robotics platforms. Leveraging deep expertise in electrical systems, safety standards, and system integration, you will design and deliver robust, scalable solutions that power next generation machine and plant systems.
This is a high impact role where you will take full ownership of electrical architecture and design, collaborating with cross functional teams to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and continuously elevate engineering standards. You will operate in a dynamic, fast paced environment with opportunities to explore new technologies, optimise system performance, and contribute to the development of large scale robotic solutions.
A key focus of this role includes PCBA design within complex electro mechanical systems (particularly large robotic platforms) and leading external design partners, requiring both strong technical depth and leadership capability.
Main Responsibilities- Lead the design and development of complex electro mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for automation and commissioning systems
- Define and contribute to system architecture, ensuring scalability, safety, and performance optimisation
- Own the development of electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, and cabinet designs, including BOM creation and drawing updates
- Drive PCBA design and integration, particularly within large scale robotic applications
- Select and specify electrical components aligned with performance, cost, and regulatory requirements
- Perform electro mechanical calculations, simulations, and system validation activities
- Lead collaboration with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and third party design partners, ensuring high quality delivery
- Prepare and maintain project plans and support requirement definition and implementation
- Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation
- Execute testing, validation, and sample inspections in line with defined test plans
- Ensure compliance with EMC, functional safety, and relevant regulatory standards
You are a highly experienced electrical engineering professional with a strong blend of technical expertise, systems thinking, and leadership capability. You thrive in complex environments and bring both depth and breadth across engineering disciplines.
