Job Description
Overview 
We are excited to announce an opening for an EHS Engineer with our client, a Global - Medical Device organisation in Athlone. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, cutting-edge company that offers a rewarding career with an attractive benefits package. This is a 12-month fixed term maternity leave contract.
Key Responsibilities- Working on activities relating to Risk Management by managing the site risk assessment schedule and driving continuous improvement to reduce risks on site.
- Implementing EHS compliance to legislative, company standards, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Determining processes relating to Management of Change to ensure EHS requirements have been considered for all new projects/installations, ensuring the process is communicated effectively across the site regularly and undertake regular reviews to assess new changes and completed change requests.
- Supporting the site's sustainability and environmental management program, which will enable the site to meet its water, energy and waste goals.
- Creating an EHS excellence culture by promoting and living the spirit of a 'Safety First' mindset, supporting business units and EHS Champions to interpret, understand EHS requirements through Tier Board process and monitoring compliance with EHS programs.
- Participate and deliver any EHS related training requirements.
- Undertake and deploy EHS Engagement activities i.e. World Safety & Health day, environmental and Occupational Health wellbeing activities.
- EHS Degree / NEBOSH General Certificate preferred or similar Safety qualification.
- At least 5 years' experience working within a busy manufacturing and/or pharmaceutical environment.
- Strong understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements is essential.
- Engineering skills/qualifications are an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, procedure document management (Enovia).
- Working Knowledge of EHS Management systems.
- Good knowledge of risk management / EHS Mgt Systems Software.
