NHS Grampian invites applicants for Specialty Doctor posts in Clinical Genetics. The posts will be based within the Clinical Genetics Centre, Ashgrove House on the Foresterhill site in Aberdeen. The department provides genetic services for the whole of the North of Scotland through visiting clinics, virtual appointments and MDTs. The posts would particularly suit Doctors with Paediatric, Adult Medicine or General Practice experience but candidates from any patient-facing background will be considered. The successful applicants will contribute to the Middle Grade Clinical Genetics daytime on-call rota. The exact duties and pattern of work will be tailored according to the qualifications and experience of the appointees. Candidates who wish to pursue a special interest will be supported. There will be some opportunity for hybrid working provided the needs of the service are met.
We have 18 PAs available, so would consider applicants wishing to work from 8 hours (2 PA) up to 40 hours (10 PA) per week. The division of the hours and appropriate working days would be agreed with the successful appointees. These fixed term posts have been created due to a Consultant vacancy, with the aim of helping to cover the medical workload until a permanent Consultant can be appointed.
These posts would be ideal for:- Those with Clinical Genetics experience (UK or abroad) who intend to go through the portfolio pathway to demonstrate eligibility for UK Consultant posts
