London Vet Specialists opened a year ago in a new state-of-the-art site in Hammersmith, West London. The hospital is located close to the river Thames in the Hammersmith & Fulham neighbourhood and is accessible by public transport with international travel links nearby.
We are looking for an ECC specialist to join our growing team. The role blends primary case responsibility for some urgent/emergency cases, an accepting service, and presence as a criticalist in our ICU to work alongside and upskill our nurses.
Our centre has a 1.5T Philips BlueSeal MRI scanner, Siemens 64-slice CT, Samsung RS-85 ultrasound, C-arm fluoroscopy, digital radiography, and Karl Storz endoscopy and bronchoscopy systems, among other equipment.
Your role and responsibilitiesLondon Vet Specialists (LVS) are recruiting a board certified or board-eligible specialist in small animal emergency and critical care to join our multidisciplinary team of specialists. You will be committed to developing the hospital and providing high standards of care to both our patients and referring veterinary surgeons. You must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently, supporting our clients, patients, and clinical teams in our busy practice. This is a rewarding and challenging role that will require teamwork and dedication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide high quality patient care and contribute to the future strategic growth of the service
- Provide clinical services as an emergency and critical care specialist
- Work collaboratively with all other services and foster good relationships
- Undertake supervision of discipline specific and rotating interns
- Demonstrate professional standards that advance patient care
- Be an ambassador for the team
- Membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (or eligible to become a member)
- Successful completion of a recognised ECVECC or ACVECC residency programme
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong communication skills and professional approach
- Provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK
- Ability and passion to help develop and shape a growing service
